Job Description



Voters Not Politicians is a nonpartisan, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to passing a state constitutional amendment to end partisan gerrymandering by creating a transparent system that takes politicians and lobbyists out of redistricting, prevents districts from being drawn to favor any party, and putting Michigan citizens in charge through an Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission.


The Deputy Field Director (DFD) will take responsibility both for tracking voter contact and identification metrics and meeting campaign goals in the assigned area of the state of Michigan. The Deputy Field Director will oversee the activity of volunteer regional field directors and field captains in the assigned regions. Essentially, the DFD will see that regional goals are met, leading to the ultimate objective of passing the redistricting reform ballot initiative on November 6, 2018.  Evening/weekend hours and some travel will be required.



Oversee the activities of 3 to 4 of the fourteen Voters Not Politicians Field Regions

Track field metrics and progress to goal for field teams and leaders

Motivate volunteer field leaders to experience success and achieve goals

Plan and supervise calls and meetings

Able to adapt quickly, make decisions, and manage multiple tasks and projects

Able to travel when needed throughout area of responsibility



Excellent communication skills

Responsive to supervisors, peers, and volunteers

Comfortable using technology

Proactive, positive, flexible, and responsible



At least 6 months regional or statewide campaign experience as an organizer in charge of volunteers
