Overview: The campaign finance director is responsible for managing the day-to-day fundraising operations of Voters Not Politicians, the grassroots, volunteer-driven, campaign to amend the state Constitution and establish an Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission. The primary focus between May and November of 2018 will be on campaign fundraising, including prospect tracking and preparation, lead follow up, and assist with regional volunteer-led fundraising. She or he will also assist with compliance and will be expected to develop a strong knowledge of Michigan campaign finance laws.
Reports To:  Executive Director 
Oversees: Regional volunteer fundraising chairs, finance assistants
Responsibilities:
  1. Execute an aggressive fundraising plan. Establish quarterly, monthly, and weekly fundraising goals and a fundraising implementation plan.
  2. Lead the day-to-day fundraising operations for the campaign.
  3. Oversee all fundraising events - both nationally and locally.
  4. Manage principal call time and other activities to hit fundraising targets and deadlines.
  5. Manage all financial correspondence and pledges.
  6. Build and maintain existing donor database by identifying and recruiting new donors.
  7. Execute and manage donor research and expand new donor networks
  8. Assist in writing fundraising emails, mailers, handouts, and thank you notes
  9. Manage and train staff, interns, and volunteers  

 

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a campaign or organizational fundraising
  2. A record of successful fundraising in a statewide, multi-state, or other large-scale campaigns
  3. Knowledge of NGP, NationBuilder, CrowdPAC and other fundraising tools;
  4. VoteBuilder (VAN), NationBuilder, Google Docs, Dropbox, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office/Excel experience is preferred
  5. Experience overseeing volunteer-driven fundraising programs and/or other organizations
  6. Demonstrable experience cultivating productive working relationships among colleagues and direct reports
  7. Ability to travel frequently, including access to a vehicle, laptop, and access to a cell phone
  8. Ability to multi-task in a fast-moving campaign environment
  9. Fastidious attention to detail
  10. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities
  11. Ability to work long, irregular hours and travel as needed
